KANDIFLIP
Kandiflip in Po Na Na runs through September on
various dates. The cost is 3 quid before 11pm and 6
thereafter. The opening hours are 10:30pm to 3am.
KandiFlip has been running in Oxford in various
guises for just over three years and now makes it
north to Po Na Na in Edinburgh, with a motto of “if it
makes people dance then play it!”
Veering towards funk, breaks, hip-hop, jazz, Latin,
rare groove and classic soul, you expect to hear
guests like Bentley Rhythm Ace, Scratch Perverts,
Norman Jay and Coldcut’s DJ Food.

BELLEVILLOISE
Through September 7th, Paris’ Festival des Idéo
returns to the beautiful stage of La Bellevilloise.
There’s something for everyone at this summer
festival from club nights and digital art installations
to children’s drama workshops.
Screenings of old silent movie classics, including
Frankenstein, are given a whole new makeover by
the addition of an acoustic or electro soundtrack.
There are also deckchairs and hammocks for chilling
out upstairs in La Bellevilloise’s huge loft, plus
a virtual reality space packed with multi-media
installations.
The Paris Festival Des Ideo is in La Bellevilloise.
Expect to pay around 4 to 6 Euro to get into the
event. A five-ticket pass is 25 Euro.
