EKIES ALL SENSES RESORT, HALKIDIKI
Senses by name, sensory overload by nature. Straddling the Vourvourou Bay
beach, Ekies is a delicious shrine to serenity. Feng Shui is the thread that binds
this delicious little complex – the rest is a concoction of the bold and the
beautiful, the modern and the aged. From the decked poolside that recedes
into the white deserted sands, to the design flourishes of Arad or Starck,
Gehry or Castiglioni peppered amongst the traditional lines of Greek
architecture, Ekies dares to mix the old and the new in a startlingly enticing
way. Choose from one of the varied rooms (modernist or classic? A touch of
both?); eat as al fresco as al fresco allows, with water lapping at your table;
or bury yourself in the exquisite quality of one of the chic Aegean-side
organic restaurants.
5 nights from £305 p.p. (low season) and from £435 p.p. (high season) in
a Standard Room on a bed & breakfast basis including flights. Transfers
extra.
SEMIRAMIS, ATHENS
The Semiramis is a vision of a hotel – think Miami’s South Beach meets
psychedelic utopia meets David La Chapelle fashion shoot. Located in Kifissia,
Athen’s most affluent and leafy suburb surrounded by exclusive dining and
shopping options, the city’s first design hotel is a homage to everything
forward-thinking. Conceptually dazzling, it’s a mad concoction of every
palette under the sun, and then some. Architect Karim Rashid leans heavily
on his industrial design heritage, and every nook and cranny of the 51-room
hotel is a nod to avant-garde styling and contemporary culture. Gaze at an
original Jeff Koons, swim in the ice-clear heated pool, eat in the neon-fresh
dining room, sleep in the period-defying bedrooms...whether it’s breathing
art exhibition or delicious living space, the Semiramis is not a hotel you’ll
forget in a hurry!
2 nights from £330 p.p. in a Standard Room on a bed & breakfast basis
including flights. Transfers extra.
MYKONOS THEOXENIA, MYKONOS
An island as funky as Mykonos deserved a hotel like the Mykonos Theoxenia,
with its 60s-inspired furniture splashed against traditional Greek stone walls
and the famous windmills of Mykonos just outside the windows (which
means the best sunsets on the island). The vibe is perky and modern, with
blocks of acid colours in the rooms deliberately jostling against the flashy
tones of the furniture. The lobby is suspended chairs and sculptural ceramics
while, if you can’t be hacked to join the party at the nearby beach, the pool
is a club all on its own. And just step down into the centre of a town that
mixes old-school Grecian Isle with all the Gucci you can eat. This place rocks
in all the right ways.
5 nights from £560 p.p. (low season) and from £830 p.p. (high season) in
a Superior Garden View Room including flights. Meals and transfers
extra.
