HOLLYWOOD ROOSEVELT, LOS ANGELES
Now this is proper Hollywood, right there on Hollywood Boulevard where
people become stars, home of the very first Oscar ceremony and where old
Tinseltown meets modern-day fabulous. And having enjoyed a whopping
$20 million makeover, the Roosevelt is back on the map, with one of the
biggest pools in town around which a party is held every night (Marilyn
Monroe – a regular – once posed on the diving board). The style is grand
and old-school, with rooms that might just fit in a stately home in terms of
looks and proportions, but it’s the Hollywood history that makes it: one
room is even supposed to be haunted by the ghost of Montgomery Clift,
who once stayed there. That’s one good-looking ghost.
