How did you first become interested in design?
I came upon some design blogs when I was in junior high,
and started to play around in Photoshop.
What are you up to right now?
Living at home with my mom and trying to make some new work
every day.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
I rather try not to.
What’s hanging on your walls?
P osters by Keith Haring, Anna Peaker, Rasmus Svensson, Arinbjørn
Lavoll, a quilt, a picture of Madonna and another ugly quilt.
What’s been the best/worst reaction to your work?
My teacher at design school asked my why I wasted time on making
ugly things. The best reaction would have to be kind words.
If you weren’t a designer what would you be?
I h a v e worked in an old people’s home for the last two summers.
I was a little bit scared at first, but it turned out to be the best job
I ever had. So maybe that.
Tell us about a favourite project you’ve worked on recently.
Nicholas Gottlund and I are putting together a book with a mixture
of collages, photographs, illustration and found images. It has
been really fun and hard work to try to put together something that
makes sense.
Who are your heroes?
Syd Barrett, Chris Johanson, Tal R, Roky Erickson, Augustin Lesage,
Keith Haring, Marianne and Rene, my mom and many more.
Describe your work space to us.
It’s a small room with a small desk and computer, almost broken
Wacom board, lots of paper and pencils, some foreign currency,
glue, snow spray, a scanner, some bills, a rock with a dolphin on it
and an ugly lamp.
What’s the best thing about your town?
It has a lake that I can swim in, and I can ride a bicycle to work.
What’s next for you?
