CLASSIC ALBUM
My Classic Album
RUMOURS
Jenni Nichol, session singer
by Fleetwood Mac, Warner Bros, 1977
IT’S A CLASSIC BECAUSE…
The songs are magic, pure and simple. From Go your Own Way
to Dreams there’s something to tickle everyone’s ivories but
it all still sounds like Fleetwood Mac. The fact it’s one of the
bestselling albums of all time means it’s got to be ticking a lot
of musical boxes.
THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT...
At a house party in the eighties. I was a bit naïve musically then
and my hosts took me under their wing to give me a better
musical education and started with Rumours.
A GOOD TIME TO LISTEN TO IT IS...
Driving home after a bad day at work. It lifts your mood
immediately. I challenge anyone not to sing along to Don’t Stop.
IT REMINDS ME OF…
Trying to mix with a much older, more sophisticated set and failing MY FAVOURITE TRACK IS…
miserably. Apart from kissing a lovely Italian boy, this album is the A bit predictable but Dreams is my all time favourite song.
only thing I can say I genuinely think of fondly from that time. Stevie Nicks’ voice is perfect on this.
