icholas Harbottle has worked for Mulberry for the last
six years, initially in Edinburgh before heading west to
open the luxury label’s Ingram Street store, which has
just celebrated its first birthday.

As well as knowing what the best dressed hands should be
carrying each season, Nick also knows how to turn that dingy
back bedroom into a slumber palace having worked as a
freelance interior designer, creating stylish homes for clients in
London, Vancouver and Madrid.
Here he gives his take on the city he now calls home.
Are you originally from Glasgow?
No, I was brought up in Hampshire, then moved to London
before seeing the light and escaping north 14 years ago.
What does your typical day involve?
The gym first thing to get the body and brain cells pumping
before a great day tempting the good people of Glasgow to
invest in beautiful bags and accessories. Followed by drinks
and occasionally dinner with friends.
Best part of the day?
Climbing into bed at the end of a long but busy day.
Where’s your favourite place in the city?
The Burrell Collection.
Where would you take visitors to show them the real
Glasgow?
Kelvingrove Park, the West End, GOMA, George Square and
MY I-ON GLASGOW
Ashton Lane on a Saturday night.

Is there anything that would place Glasgow more
firmly on the map?
The council really pushing the diversity of the city. There is so

much here to appeal to everybody; from history, culture and
