Welcome To Medicare

Welcome to Medicare is a free class presented by the Contra Costa County Health Insurance
Counselling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). During this two hour class we will review all

the parts of Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare supplement polices. Medicare drug

coverage and low-income assistance program that can assist with payment of premiums and
■ lower co-payment our goal is for you to be able to make and informed decision on how to

supplement medicare.

TECHNOLOGY CLASSES FOR ACTIVE SENIORS

These technology classes are for active seniors (50 years or older). If space is available, students under
■ 50 years old may enroll in these classes, and pay an additional fee. All classes are instructor-directed,

except for Computer Lab. Be sure to check out all of our Technology Classes for Active Seniors on
Pages 32 and 33 of this catalog! Special offer: Register at the same time for 2 or more Technology

for Active Seniors classes for the same quarter, and receive a 10% discount on your total tuition!

Intro to Computers ((Instructor-directed)

■ Basic course in computers using Windows XP. Learn the terminology and how the computer

and Internet work. Learn how to prepare letters reports, spreadsheets, and a database. Course is
designed for those who know almost nothing about a computer but want to learn. Priority given

to current and wait-list students age 50 and older.

Come join this exciting class and learn about the features of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Lots of hands-on practical use of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. This course

is designed for those who want to continue learning about the many uses of the computer,

including an introduction on how to create business cards, fliers, letterheads, and other home

office projects. Priority given to current and wait-list students age 50 and older. Prerequisite:

Intro to Computers.

Photoshop Elements 6.0 Basics for Active Seniors (Instructor-directed)
■ Learn basic steps on how to use Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0, the newest graphic-imaging

software, to learn how to make flyers, business cards, and other print media. This is a great way to
get started on your holiday projects! Class limited to 9 students. Prerequisite: Basic computer

skills.
