Cost of relationship

This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you. No-one can
have greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12-13
Mon 5th
It is hard to be loyal to people who abandon or betray us. Yet, if we can
find ways to heal our pain and to forgive the past, we may not renew
those relationships but we might find ourselves less angry.
Tues 6th Epiphany
The Magi believed that the Messiah had been born when they were far
across the world; they followed the star and brought him gold, frankincense
and myrrh. What do we need to believe in God and what gifts should we
bring to his Son today?
Weds 7th Baptism of Christ
Christ became like us in all things, including baptism. Let us reflect
on our baptismal promises today and renew our belief with fervour.
Thurs 8th
Christ came ’not to abolish, but to fulfil’. When you listen in the silence of
your heart, you realise that far from humiliating human beings, he comes to
transfigure even what is most disturbing in you… Br Roger, Taizé
Fri 9th
Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being. Do you desire to construct a
vast and lofty fabric? Think first about the foundations of humility. The higher
your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation. St Augustine
Sat 10th
Let us pause to reflect on those relationships in our lives that feel costly.
Show us Lord, how to persevere when we’d rather not, and to remember
your greater cost in sacrificing your only Son.
