Helping children
A new range of leaflets has been produced by the
Faith & Policy Unit to help parents to nurture their
children’s faith and to help churches to include
children. The leaflets are entitled
Children & Bereavement, Godly
Play, Children in Church, Taking
Children Seriously and Children
& Spirituality. Each leaflet
includes a list of resources and
sources of further information.
They are available free to members from
Central Services at Mary Sumner House.
Record breaker?
Is this a record? Kate Vodden has been
a member of the Torrington Mothers’
Union for 84 years. At 106 years old, she
lives on her own with grandchildren
and friends calling in each day. She was
thrilled to receive her long service
certificate from local Diocesan
President Mary Steer. She said she was
so excited she didn’t sleep that night as
she had never had a president

Toiletries for women’s refuges
life based at
Dumfries church-goers have been taking
home
toiletries to church. Over the last nine years
making
members of Dumfries St John’s branch have
gloves for a
supplied more than 700 toilet bags to the
factory in Dumfries and Galloway Women’s Aid refuges.
Torrington. Members make the bags and then fill them
with six basics and a luxury item collected
from members who leave their donations in
a basket at the back of the church.
