Aristocrat Technologies has brought forward plans to roll out its new Viridian WS cabinet throughout Europe, announcing that virtually all new casino games shown at the forth- coming ICE exhibition (25- 27 January, Earls Court, London) will be presented in the new widescreen format. The majority of games on stand 3415 will be available for immediate release, subject to regula- tory approvals. First unveiled at the National Indian Gaming Association’s

Gamesman will be using what will be its biggest ever presence at a trade expo to launch a range of technol- ogy-driven gaming solutions to a European and interna- tional audience of gaming professionals. The innova- tor’s main focus for ICE will be on its new LCD push- button deck technology, ver- sions of which are now in volume production for the North American market. This technology offers the

f lexibility to complement the most advanced slot machines with download- able content, as well as com- plimenting multi-game terminals Additional prod- ucts on show include a variety of customer specific Toppers which will be shown as part of Games- man’s ‘demonstration of capabilities’ programme, as well as Gamesman’s com- plete range of market-leading push buttons and reel mech- anism solutions.

Mark Smith, managing

director and CEO at Games- man, said: “I don’t see our job as coming up with random product designs in the hope that they will hit the mark. Instead our expertise is in working with games design- ers and developers in order to bring exciting and rele- vant product ideas to life. Tangible examples of this approach can be seen on our booth and serve to demon- strate perfectly the end result of close customer collabora- tion. ICE gives us an oppor- tunity to meet with the relevant people, discuss the key issues impacting slot design, listen to their ideas and provide them with imag- inative and integrated gaming solutions. I believe that the gaming industry needs a marquee event such as ICE to serve as a rallying point for technology and innovation. We’re certainly looking forward to it and building on the momentum it undoubtedly generates for exhibitors despite the diffi- cult trading conditions.”

We’ve been build- ing for the future and now we’re ready to unleash a dazzling array of new games and exciting new game cat- egories in Europe, the size and spread of which has never been seen before in Aristocrat’s ICE portfolio. Court ruling says IGT compete fairly International Game Technology has announced that all the antitrust counterclaims and unfair competition claims brought against it by Bally in federal court in Nevada have been dismissed. US District Court Judge Robert Jones of the District of Nevada granted summary judgment in favour of IGT on all antitrust and Lanham Act counterclaims brought by Bally.

Bally Technologies infringed six IGT patents. Most of the patent claims had been previously dismissed. Bally had alleged that by asserting these patents IGT was attempting to monopolise the market.

This lawsuit was originally filed in December 2004, and involved claims that Robert Melendres, chief

legal officer and corporate secretary at IGT, said: “We are quite pleased by this ruling. IGT competes fairly and has always believed that these allegations were completely unfounded.”
