internationalcasinoreview G2e10 REPORT Sun shines stateside for Novomatic

Whilst Novomatic enjoyed a great show marked by a larger than ever before visitor contingent from South America, the lead up to the exhibition saw a number of key installs in North America, most notably in the two biggest casinos in the United States; Mohegan Sun Resort and Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut.

On the red carpet at the Novomatic booth visitors found top star cabinets such as the NovoStar SL2 and the Super-V+ Gaminator with the latest Coolfire II multi- game mixes. With up to 27 games per multi-game mix, up to seven player-selectable denominations, multi-lan- guage options as well as a great choice of high/low line- games (5 to 40 lines selec- table) these multi-game mixes offer maximum flexi- bility for the operator and guests alike. A further attraction in Las

Vegas was the Ultimate 10 multi-game mixes XA-H: this new and growing range of multi-game mixes is based on the new Coolfire I+ gaming platform and is avail- able in the popular Gamina- tor cabinet. The Coolfire I+ platform combines the ben- efits of Coolfire II technol- ogy with the cost effective price structure of the former Coolfire I platform offering tremendous benefits for the more cost-conscious cus- tomer segment. Novomatic also displayed a comprehensive multi- player installation compris- ing Novo Multi-Roulette, Novo TouchBet Baccarat, Novo Flying Black Jack as well as Novo Flying Texas Hold’em Poker, Novo Flying 3-Card Poker and Novo Flying Caribbean Poker - all in one system and all avail- able on each of the linked individual player stations. This multiplayer multi-game

functionality adds maximum comfort and convenience for the guest and maximum flexibility for the operator. Running on the server based Novo Unity II multiplayer platform, it allows casinos to link any chosen number of terminals to different games such as Roulette, Baccarat, Poker and Black Jack to make all those games available at every single player station. This enables the guest to switch f lexibly from one game to another via fingertip touch, without having to leave their favourite seat. Cash handling systems demonstrated at the Novo- matic booth also included cashless and TITO applica- tions. With the proprietary jackpot system P-Box, AGI also presented the brand new jackpot theme ‘Fredy Fortuna’ which has been developed through the close co-operation of Octavian South America and AGI. Jens Halle, managing direc-

tor AGI, said: “G2E this year was a very good show for Novomatic and AGI. We saw a welcome number of interna- tional visitors; including many from South America and we were pleased to be able to conclude worthwhile levels of business. We look forward to next year’s more favourable date and to the change of venue for the show. Meetings held here in Las Vegas have gone a long way to creating a more ‘busi- ness-friendly’ dimension to the international show cal- endar and I think all of the major manufacturers were glad of the opportunity to sit

Merkur Gaming debuted at this year’s G2E showing its brand new Slant Top cabinet with 26” monitor on top and 22” touch-monitor and Casinoline, a ten game multi- game line for casino markets. Jens Stradtmann, CEO at

Merkur, said: “The constant stream of visitors, in particular from Central and South America,

has exceeded our expectations. The exhibition’s visitors showed very strong interest in our casino slots and we were able to strengthen existing contacts to our valued customers as well as to fascinate the interested parties by our products made in Germany”. Frank Ziegler, director sales and marketing, added: “The casino market is traditionally charac- terised by single games. With our ‘Casinoline’ multi-games, particu-

larly in the innovative Slant Top cabinet, we offer maximum flexi- bility and comfort for casino oper- ators and their customers.” Elsewhere, the Merkur Dis- penser 100 is an innovative ban- knote recycler that consists of banknote reader, banknote stacker and banknote recycler. It has integrated three patented drums that can store up to 34 notes each, meaning 102 notes in total can be recycled.

lowed up with a second order for 15 of FV623 models with the Ultimate 10XA game mix. All the games are performing better than expected. We followed up the Fort Hall installation with the installation of games at the Holiday Inn properties in both Ponce and Mayaguez Puerto Rico. Once again, the game performance was over- whelming with our games now the number one revenue generator on the casino floor. In addition, we also recently completed our first installation in Califor- nia. The Augustine Casino accepted eight of our FV623 models which are sure to be a hit with locals.”

Additional installations

prior to G2e included Valley View Casino in California, Mohegan Sun Resort and Foxwoods Resort in Con- necticut, Isle of Capri in Florida and the Marriott Emerald Casino in Curacao. Smith added: “This year’s

together and openly discuss many matters that have affected us all in recent months. We now look forward to ICE 2011 in London where we will con- tinue that process.” Novomatic has been

working stateside with Reel Games since 2009 with the partner marketing and secur- ing game real estate and lab approvals for the rollout of the licensed product from Novomatic for North America and Caribbean. Sean Smith of Reel Games

said: “Our first install this year was at the Fort Hall Casino in Idaho. We initially installed 30 FV626 games which included game mixes 25, 26 and 27. The performance was a major success as it was fol-

G2E was amazing. Game orders flowed from both US and Caribbean customers for several hundred new games. We were also able to assist the Octavian Argentina team to sign up system sales for our Caribbean customers. The most compelling thing, in my opinion, about both the FV623CF 1+ and FV626 CF II cabinets is the new game mixes we are releasing into our market. The FV623 cabinet will include the new Ultimate 10H game mix and the FV626 cabinet will include game mix 38 both of which include three 40 line games as well as the proven twenty and ten line perform- ers. Ultimate 10H also includes a Bingo and Roulette game. Both cabinet models are being released with 10 game banks and over 30 new titles. Depending on the customer’s budget, we also like to include a multi level mystery progressive or utilise the internal stand alone game mystery avail- able in both models.”
