Added Lisa: “I have a total focus on
my portrait photography and Frazer
is obsessed with making the
business successful overall. Of
course we argue about certain
aspects of the running of the
business – and it’s true that we insist
on separate offices in the studio -
but so far it’s proved to be a winning
combination.”
Lisa’s shooting style includes plenty
of close-cropped images.
She told Litebook: “I think my style
has changed quite a lot since I have
been at Hamilton Studios. I love to
focus on the face – to me that’s what
a portrait is really all about. I love the
eye contact and all the quirky little
things about children. I like my
photographs to look natural and
strong – and I love experimenting
with lighting.”
The couple shoots mainly with a
Hasselblad 503CE plus Phase One
P20 digital back – with a backup
Nikon D300, used occasionally on
commercial shots.
Explained Frazer: “If I am
photographing pets, for example,
and there’s a dog running amok and
I need some auto focus - then I’ll use
the Nikon, but 80% of the time we’re
on the Hasselblad.”
The real light of Lisa’s life is her
Bowens set-up. “I have been using
Bowens lighting since my very first
job when I was seventeen,” she
recalled. “And neither of us has ever
used anything else to be honest.
