Now life’s never going to be the same
again for Lisa and her photographer
husband Frazer – who jointly run
Hamilton Studios inEast Grinstead, West
Sussex.
Serendipity has playeda substantial part
in this couple’s success story too.
Explained Lisa: “I first started working as
a photographer doing in-store portraits
for Parasol Portrait Photography, owned
by Eric Dawson Strange.
But in 1999, after a six yearbreak from
the profession, I decided it was time to
make a comeback. By chance I saw a
card in the window at Hamilton Studios
in the High Street. The company, at that
time owned by Alan Routledge, was
looking for a photographer to work on the
baby and children pictures that Alan and
Frazer, (who was already employed by
the studio at that time) didn’twant to do.
I really loved it and eventually Frazer
bought the studio from Alan and we
started redeveloping the business
together.”

photo-services – with Lisa handling the
majority of the babies and children
commissions and Frazer working on
family groups and fulfilling product and
corporate work in the duo’s ‘Out of The
Box’ commercial segment of the studio.
Frazer admitted: “I think, generally
speaking, women make better baby and
child photographers than men. Lisa is
definitely more proficient at this photo-
discipline than I am.”
