Job adverts receives stiff opposition

If, by some strange coincidence, you are relocating to Norwich then the following vacancy has just been advertised in Norwich Job Centre. And “no”, this is not a joke, it’s a genuine advert:

Job Title: Trampling Dominatrix
Excellent rates of pay: £100 per day
Uniform provided: Leather
Duties include: “Stomping on S & M fetishists who enjoy being trodden on and one-to-one sessions utilising the skills of trampling and dominatrix”.
No experience required: Training provided
Hours of work: Between 12am to 2am

The advert goes on to warn that the job “may cause embarrassment to some people” but does not involve nudity. The work is open to both sexes and they are an Equal Opportunities employer.

Tory family values campaigner Dr Adrian Rogers said: “This behaviour should be illegal. It can leave severe injuries”.

Oh, be quiet! Email me for an application form – I have printed a few spare ‘just in case’.

More good news for manufacturing

Pencoed-based Rockwool UK’s multi-million pound expansion plans have been confirmed and will create 110 jobs.

Rockwool UK, which makes energy-saving mineral wool insulation for thermal, fire and acoustic protection at its Pencoed plant near Bridgend, is key to the rejuvenation of the local area following the loss of over 1,000 jobs in the past 18 months as a result of recent factory closures

Well if you live in Wales then you should be, according to a new survey.

Workers in Wales came out as the happiest employees with only 1 in 5 saying they are disillusioned in their jobs, the YouGov research for TheCareerMole.com found.

Londoners, meanwhile, are the most likely to be trapped in job that they don’t like with 1.9 million (29 per cent) claiming that their jobs do not match their expectations.

The League of Disillusion survey showed that a quarter of employees across Britain - or 7.1m - say their job is not what they expected. The figures are based on a YouGov survey of 2,374 British adults in April.

Kristan Hall, chief executive of TheCareerMole.com said: “Finding a job is not just a question of impressing a potential employer. Applicants should also vet the employer themselves to see whether the role they are applying for will actually suit them.

“Employers want to attract the most talented staff, which can often make people focus on selling their company rather than wondering if their applicants are right for the role or the company ethos.”

Hall added: “People who are content in their jobs work harder, do better and feel happier. It’s that simple. You spend a huge chunk of your time at work, so why sit in a job you hate?”

250 manufacturing jobs set to come to city

Irish based manufacturer Quinn Group announced plans to build a new insulation plant on the outskirts of Newport at Celtic Springs, creating 250 new jobs.

A spokesperson claimed that the new multi-million pound plant will be the biggest of its kind in Europe and hinted that even more jobs could be created.
