Full Length Script Development Workshop and Showcase

With over one hundred applications for just six places, this course combines screenwriting and rewriting with one-on-one mentoring with professional script consultants to develop a full-length script.

Prior to shooting, writers will be given the amazing opportunity to work with a Producer, TV crew, Director and actors to bring their script to screen.

Comedy Workshop and Showcase

The most promising twenty five applicants are selected from submissions to attend an intensive workshop and two-day masterclass with leading comedy professionals providing the practical knowledge to perfect their script.

Afterwards, delegates are given time to redraft their scripts implementing the skills they have developed and a panel of industry professionals will select the top scripts to progress to the final module. This module provides writers with invaluable ‘hands-on’ experience as well as a calling card script and DVD of the filmed reading.

Continuing Drama Workshops and Showcases

In association with ITV, TAPS presents two courses aimed at starting UK scriptwriters on the road to writing for television. Thirty delegates will be selected for each course on the strength of a 10-minute short or 10-page excerpt from a larger script.

Delegates will be asked to write a 30-minute piece for TV - the best of which will receive a one-to-one script surgery session with a script editor before rewriting their piece. These new drafts will be resubmitted and the top three from will be showcased in a studio and distributed on DVD to TAPS’ network of industry contacts.

Script Editing Workshop

This intensive weekend workshop designed for any professional wanting to further their knowledge of script editing, has become extremely popular and well respected. Run by top script consultants, the course takes delegates on the journey of an actual network programme from the original draft script through to the final, transmitted piece. The course is currently only run annually and places are limited so early applications are advised.
