Opportunities for all (Continued)
The organisation’s remit is not only focussed on casework and employment. It has a long track record of connecting with black and minority ethnic community organisations and of campaigning on race equality issues. It also acts as a consultant on equality and diversity issues to a range of organisations. For a number of years it has run a successful ‘Schools Against Racism Calendar & Poster competition which promotes race equality in a positive and fun way and last year it worked with primary schools through its Tactile Sculpture Arts Project.
REF believes that the best way of achieving equality is by individuals and organisations working in partnership. It aims to be inclusive and engaging of diverse individuals, communities and organisations, whether voluntary, public or business sector who want to make a positive contribution to making equality real and its partners include:
Statutory organisations such as Cardiff and Vale local authorities, Commission for Racial Equality (CRE), South Wales Police, Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR)
