Fire in the hole
International tool company Stanley Bostitch says that it is set to turn up the heat in the construction
industry with the launch of its hottest metal connector nailer yet.
The new Strapshot™ nailer has a lightweight feel and is versatile, making it suitable for tight
spaces and hard-to-reach areas. Also, its in-line magazine fits conveniently into 90˚
angled corners for added manoeuvrability.
The nailer is approximately 270mm tall and weighs 227 grams. It
also features a precision trip mechanism for exact placement of the
nail into metal connector holes, and accepts 38mm length galvanised
paper tape collated nails with a shank of 3.75mm in diameter.
Tim Ramsey, European marketing manager for Stanley Bostitch,
said: “Metal connectors are to the construction industry what the I-pod
is to electronics – they rapidly moved from early adoption to become
almost an industry standard. Until now installing metal joist hangers and
connector straps has been a real challenge because contractors were forced to use
makeshift methods to apply them – no dedicated tool was available. Our field research indicates
that Bostitch now offers exactly what contractors have been asking for.”
