Thinking smaller publishers first
As IPAC’s strategic partner, Pensord puts publishers first at the Independent Publisher Awards 2009
The Independent Publisher Awards 2009 – the ultimate accolade for independent publishers, took place on December 1st at Vinopolis in London, presented by self-made multi-millionaire investor and star of BBC’s Dragons’ Den, James Caan, and as inaugural IPAC Strategic Partner and sponsor, Pensord was in the thick of the action.
15 years as a PPA judge! These highly respected awards recognise the entrepreneurial spirit and achievement of this important sector of the publishing industry. The event was a stand- alone for the first time this year, with Tony Jones as judge and chair of the judges, to mark 15 years involvement as a judge for PPA,
and in more recent years for IPAC. Pensord also produced the Digital Edition of the Winners’ Brochure in addition to the printed version.
Resounding success Tony said: “The event was a resounding success, which demonstrates the importance of IPAC for the independent publishing sector, especially in difficult times, and Pensord was proud to be so involved. In my role I had a privileged insight into the creativity, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit that drives our most talented, smaller independent publishers. But what also impressed me was the sheer intensity of the pride demonstrated by all involved.”
