Fam trip report
Tune into Tunisia
Roving Reader Ryan Parker from Directline Holidays checked out a range of
resorts and hotels on a Cosmos fam trip to Tunisia. Here are some of his highlights
I
have sold Tunisia for many years, but
must admit I had some preconceptions
about the destination, such as bad
tummies and unclean resorts and
hotels. How wrong I was.
We flew direct from Heathrow to Tunis
with Tunis Air, with seat-back entertainment
and more leg-room than I have ever
experienced in economy.
Sousse
After a two-hour transfer, we arrived in
Sousse, our base while we explored a variety
of resorts and hotels. The city is a great place
to explore in the warm winter sun. The
sights, sounds and smells of the medina give
you a flavour of the traditions of Tunisia,
while if you are up for a haggle, there are
some great bargains to be had.
We stayed at the Riad Palms, which has an
excellent location right on the beach in the
centre of the resort. Although it is a bit dated,
it is being refurbished; once that is completed
it will definitely be one to recommend.
We also visited Port el Kantaoui, which
was my favourite resort, with sandy beaches
to rival the Caribbean. Strolling around the
marina at sunset was unforgettable.
For golf lovers, I would recommend the
Marhaba Palace Hotel, which is situated on a
fabulous 27-hole course that is suitable for
all abilities and boasts excellent rates.
For those wanting to relax after playing
golf, the spa facilities are excellent.
