Euro vision winners
FAEP (the European Federation of Magazine Publishers), is based in Brussels and
represents, protects and promotes the interests of European magazine publishers
before the institutions of the European Union; the European Council; the European
Parliament and the European Commission. It recently won a European Public Affairs
Award, and here we reveal the work and dedication of its staff...

AEP is supported by national magazine
associations and magazine publishing
companies in the European Union. Its
secretariat is managed by David Mahon,
executive director, Max von Abendroth,
director of communications and sustainability
and Ingrid de Ribaucourt, European affairs
manager, and it has developed its profile
with the help of its members as well as its
past two presidents.
In the last two years, FAEP has left a strong
impression in the corridors of EU power.
Through various lobbying formats, aimed
at bringing publishers in direct contact with
the decision makers. FAEP has opened many
doors which otherwise would have been
closed to mere Brussels-based lobbyists.
So far in 2008, it has set up face-to-face
meetings for publishers from eight EU
member states with seven EU commissioners,
12 members of cabinets, 22 high-ranking
officials from the EU Commission and 73
Members of the European Parliament.
