Vango is once again the proud sponsor of the largest and most illustrious mountain marathon event in the UK – the
Original Mountain Marathon (OMM).
Entering its final year of a three-year sponsorship deal, Vango’s association with one the UK’s greatest outdoor

brand.
Taking place on 25th – 26th of October 2008, the OMM will kick off from the new location of Seathwaite Farm
Seatoller, Borrowdale in the Lake District and will include entrants from over 14 countries worldwide.
Sharon Aitken, Marketing Manager of Snow and Outdoor at AMG Group commented: “The OMM presents the
perfect partnership for Vango. Our equipment has been kitting out adventure racers, runners, orienteers and fell
walkers for years.
“With a firm foothold in the lightweight arena, Vango and F10 by Vango have been aiding serious adventurers and
athletes to compete in events like this, further pushing the boundaries and rising to these extreme outdoor challenges.”
Jen Longbottom, Event Organiser said: “The Vango brand sits hand in hand with the OMM’s objective of
developing team work and self reliance. Under the event’s extreme conditions the right kit is imperative for the safety
and comfort of all those taking part.
“The objective of the OMM is to test fitness, equipment and navigational ability to traverse mountain terrain in
safety, over a period of two days. From the start to the finish on the second day, including an overnight camp, the team
is self sufficient unit, responsible for their own safety and well being."
