Many Pros struggle to find the time to attend courses, which is why the PGA is

backing a Distance Learning Programme, produced by Crossover Business
Developments, to help Pros be the best they can be.
Research showed that Pros were keen to learn, but that they would also find it
easier to study in their own time, avoiding the need to travel to residential courses.
A particular need for retailing and business skills was also identified.
“We identified a real gap in this area,” explained Bruce Barnard, MD of Crossover
Business Developments, who designed the courses. “They know they need these
skills, but find it hard to commit to developing them. In creating a flexible, hands-
on distance learning option, they can improve their shop's performance as
painlessly as possible.”
Pros can reduce costs, study when it suits them - and gain up to
175 CPD points
The beauty of distance learning is that PGA members can study when it suits
them, fitting their learning around the demands of the shop, without having to
spend extra money. They can study at their own pace, with course tutors available
by email or phone. Investment is minimal, and they can earn up to 175 CPD
points from the current courses - more are set to follow.
