As a vegan for the last four and a half years, I was obviously
delighted to hear that a new entirely vegan raw food
restaurant had opened in London. A place like this certainly
benefi ts from being in the heart of arty Shoreditch, and we
found it really buzzing on the night of our visit. The décor is
minimalist without being stark, and friendly staff and soft
lighting put us immediately at ease. Large windows looked
out onto a garden fi lled with edible plants.
For the starter I had the Miso Somen Soup (£5.50). Soft
noodles were nicely countered by crisp segments of
lotus root, swimming in a tasty bouillon. My companion
had the Spring Dumplings (£6), and found the unusual
combination of date and spinach very tasty. For the cheese lovely, with the thick sweetness of the coconut perfectly set
course we had the Macadamia Caprese (£6.50). It was off by the zestiness of the lemon. My companion found the
rather chalky in texture, but it was defi nitely one of the Ganache Tart (£5.50) pleasant enough.
