I
T’S 9AM and I’m sitting at the kitchen table in Annoushka
Ducas’ modern oasis not far from Sloane Square. It may be
early, but while I was crossing London to meet the famous
jewellery designer, she had already managed to pop into
Covent Garden and squeeze in a session at the gym.
Annoushka is the co-founder of Links of London, which she sold
in 2006. Now she has launched a new collection under her own
name.
Radiant and with a contagious smile, she says: “The new
collection is very different from Links of London – it’s all gold. Links
of London was pretty much all silver. It is exciting working with all
gold and stones – semi-precious and precious – which I have never
really been able to do.”
Creating key pieces that are individual and sophisticated is close
to Annoushka’s heart. Staying true to her philosophy that “jewellery
is meant to be worn and not kept in the jewellery box for the less
and less common occasion”, she is draped in beautiful gold
necklaces and keen to show off the stackable rings from her
collection. While we’re talking, she takes them off and mixes the
slim gold and diamond bands, which start from £150, to create
different looks.
