Fashion Show
T_he annual Harvey Nichols spring/summer
fashion show turned to the Jungle Book for
inspiration this year. Taking on a tropical theme
complete with paw prints, rainforest vines, wild
animals and bamboo chairs, 400 guests filled
Harvey Nichols’ Accessories Hall for the
showcase of summer trends.
Amanda Wakeley, rejoining her Northern roots,
presented this stunning collection of looks,
including chic daywear by Black Halo and
breathtaking couture by Cavalli, Gucci, Amanda
Wakeley and Lanvin. Shoes showcased included
flowered covered Louboutins, while the
vertiginous Jimmy Choo’s stole the show.
DJ Xander supplied the soundtrack to the night,
hair was styled by Andrew Barn of barn//it at
Urban Retreat. Andrew went for the bold false

fringes with a tousled edge. Fresh from London

Chong, national make-up artists for Nars went
Kerr
with their Spring/Summer collection.

Men’s trends included ‘Boys in Blue’, ‘White
pencer
Wash’ and ‘Nautical’, while the women’s trends
included, ‘Tribal,’ ‘Grecian Goddess’ and ‘Colour
Block’.
Marina Dalglish
Grand Ball
A staggering amount of almost £200,000 was
raised at the annual Marina Dalglish Appeal
Grand Ball. Held once again at Knowsley Hall,
guests were entertained by the infamous Swann
Band until the early hours of the morning.
T_he marquee looked spectacular and was
decorated by Liz Taylor of TLC. All money
raised will be going towards the appeal’s new
and exciting challenge in conjunction with
Clatterbridge to raise £5,000,000 to bring
Radiotherapy to Liverpool which is hoped will
be open by 2010.
