Finding Your Flow
T. Bennett
As a song writer, I move in and out of the
creative flow. When having the strong
urge to write and I’m in a flow, the pen
can’t move fast enough. But, when not
inspired, I have come to realize the need
to turn my attention in another direction
and free my energy from what I was
trying to forcibly create. This was not an

easy process to understand at first. In

fact I struggled and got frustrated with
myself many times for not producing on
cue. And, that state of frustration just
added to my lack of inspiration. You see,
if I was to sit in front of the piano and Autumnal Recipe Guide
force the flow, nothing comes. Period.

and if it just isn’t there, I move on to do
something else. Lesson here; go where
there is flow. This keeps the creative
energy holding it’s momentum no matter
what you choose to do. Have you noticed
most artists, writers and actors have their
bringing you
hands in a few different creative areas?
But, creative slumps happen. So the

slump has it’s purpose too. You may even

create momentum just resting from it all.
Let go. Take a break. I even noticed that
immersing myself in the mundane day-to-
day tasks, like laundry is a good
distraction for me to let go. It’s all part of
being in creative flow. Keep feeling good.
Just keep doing what it is you do.
Because when you stop focusing on the
creating, it sneaks up on you in a big way.
So just be ready.
Be Well.
