Holiday Message to Friends
Hi all, happy holidays!
What is the spirit of giving really all about? I have found the perfect gift to give and it’s one size fits
all! You cannot buy this gift at Walmart, Costco or Online store. There is no need to wait in line for
hours because of it’s limited supply. In fact it is such a perfect gift, I will even give it to myself. Now
that I’ve peeked your interest; give the gift of your time!
This holiday season I will give myself and my loved ones more of my time. I will first take care of
myself, dedicate me-time, maybe to read that classic novel I have been wanting to delve into. I will
also give more time to my family and friends. I will prepare Marie Bianco’s Hootycreeks Cookie Gift
on page 21 and drop by a friend’s house I haven’t seen in a while.
But most important, I will give more of myself to someone who is in more need than I am. Over the
years I have done many quiet deeds, one of which I will now share with you, only to offer you some
inspiration. What may seem to be an insignificant present to one person can be a huge gift to
another. For instance, the next time you are in a grocery store, look around and chances are there
will be someone on line, maybe an elderly person who is struggling with today’s high food prices.
Make their day and quietly tell the cashier you will pay for their purchases. They don’t even need to
know who you are, that is the point. The important thing is that you have spread some kindness and
most likely changed their whole day for the better, maybe when they needed it most. I call this putting
my deeds in the good living bank, believing what goes around comes around. I know how I have
been blessed so many times in my life.
This holiday I will think of all the kind words you have sent me this past year and look towards 2009
with excitement, knowing what a great year it will be! I wish all of you the best.
Be well always!
My sister and I a few
years ago. I wonder if
she still likes sledding?
