Ann’s Arcade in Manchester city centre.
In August 2005, after selling his own
recruitment company, Nicholas Hartshorne
Evans saw the potential that Nicholas Jones
tailors had and bought a 50% share in the
company. Since then it has grown from
strength to strength, offering an even more
personal service and a wide range of bespoke
tailoring.
Mr Hartshorne Evans said: “I was in
Nicholas Jones needing a suit tailored and I
just saw the potential and excellence. I knew
investing in the company would be a wise
decision and I haven’t looked back since.”
The partnership of the eponymous
owners has enabled the business to
grow and strengthen, yet maintain the
personalised service that sets this tailors
apart from its competitors.
Mr Hartshorne Evans said: “Choice is a
very important element to us and we want
to make sure our customers have a wide
variety of choice when they are in our store.”
Nicholas Jones offers two different types
of tailoring: personal and bespoke tailoring.
Personal tailoring provides the customer
with exactly what they are looking for, with
a suit usually taking between three and four
weeks to be made depending on the time
of year. Bespoke tailoring offers that plus
more. Each bespoke tailored suit includes
a design process as well as four fittings so
that it makes the perfect suit, matching all
the customers’ requirements. Each garment
is handmade with just one jacket taking
between 50 and 60 hours.
Nicholas Jones are determined to offer
their customers choice, and as a result they
have available more than 10,000 suiting,
jacketing and over coating cloths from the
very best mills in the world and you will
be pleased to hear that 95% are woven in
Huddersfield.
To compliment all of the luxurious
fabrics they stock, they also have around
3000 different shirtings from world famous
mills like the Italian Mills of SIC Tess, and
Acorn Fabrics in Burnley.
This mean that Nicholas Jones are able to
offer you 7000 different suits, 2500 different
jackets and 500 different coats along with
3000 different bespoke shirts.
In fact you could have 369 white bespoke
shirts, all in different styles, which means
one for every day of the week plus a couple
of changes when the Bolognese sauce has
gone down the front.
