Still, several new ones have trickled in, including a real winner.
Here are three of the latest for the Mattel Intellivision system:
BURGERTIME (Mattel, for Intellivision, $34.95) is the winner.
Mattel hasn't introduced too many decent games since the early
days of its Intellivision system. Many recent releases have been
either too complicated or too slow to maintain a video player's
interest for very long. Burgertime, an adaptation of a popular ar-
cade game, is an exception; in fact, it's the best new Mattel game
I've seen since Lock 'N Chase.
The graphics here are an accomplishment, especially for Intellivi-
sion. The player can control the altitude and speed of his plane.
Direct hits produce a proper display of destruction.
But in the end, this one-player game is boring. Unlike Mattel's B-
17 Bomber, a similar aircraft exercise but one that requires a great
deal of strategy (not to mention Mattel's voice synthesizer), Mis-
sion X is nothing but plain old shoot-and-kill. Period. * *
Like most home video games, Burgertime is a derivative of other WHITE WATER (Imagic, for Intellivision, $34.95). It's really

yond the cartoon-like screen graphics.
The subject of this game is fast food. The object is to steer a chef,
Peter Pepper, around a ladder maze, crossing hamburger ingredi-
ents - buns, lettuce, tomatoes and patties - while being chased by
a gang of nasty hot dogs, eggs and pickles. No, I'm not kidding.
The chef has several defenses. He can lead his assailants onto
the hamburger buns just before he completely crosses them, and,
if he times it right, cause them to fall to lower levels of the ladder.
He also can bop them on the head with food. Or, if he's really
trapped, he can sprinkle a dash of pepper in their direction, tem-
porarily immobilizing them. Points are earned along the way.
What keeps the game challenging is that there are seven progres-
sive mazes, with increasing difficulty. In addition, the assailants
increase in number and agility.
As mentioned earlier, Burgertime is a popular arcade game, not
on the level of Pac-Man, but a moneymaker nonetheless. As an This cartridge features seven different games in one, all of them
