Living Well
Meditate on a Thankful-List
by T. Bennett
One aspect in my daily life that I am coming to
really understand as being very important is,
appreciating what I have and being very
thankful. So much of our time is spent
thinking about tomorrow & remembering
what happened yesterday, that we lose sight of
what is happening right in front of us, in this
now moment. With this awareness comes a
new pace that drives you. A better pace;
because we are then in a perspective that can
better direct all the momentum building
questions that keep popping up and interpret
the questions as just questions, and not
problems. Like: What do I do about that? How

come that wasn’t done? Do I have enough
time for that? That needs to be done when?
And so on. Face it, the lists will always be
there, so forget even thinking about crossing
everything off. List makers make lists. When
one ends another one is started. There is
nothing wrong with having them. It is that
stepping into our thankful-now-place that
keeps the overwhelm from being at the helm
of the list and can redirect it’s intention in the
right place. I was really able to use my
thankful-list exercise just last week when my
computer was experiencing a bad case of
overwhelm. The questions started to build;
Now what am I going to do? What about all
my documents? How long will it take to fix? I
had to redirect my thoughts real fast. It’s not
