Russia For voyages with a call at Russia we expect to be able to arrange block visas for guests travelling on organised Cunard Line shore excursions. However, if this is not possible we will advise you in good time if you need to obtain a visa yourself. If you intend to go ashore independently in Russia a Russian Tourist Visa is required.


This MUST be obtained before leaving home, as visas cannot be granted or provided on board the liner. If you wish to obtain an individual Russian Tourist Visa, you will need to be sponsored by a licensed Russian Tour company. This company will provide you with the necessary documentation to obtain your individual Tourist Visa. After obtaining this documentation you will need to contact a visa service or the Russian Embassy at www.russialink.org.uk for the visa. All guests must bring a photocopy of the photograph/personal details page contained in the passport if you are intending to go ashore whether with an organised excursion or independently.


Australia/China/India/Vietnam All guests whose voyage itinerary includes the countries listed above will need to obtain visas for each of these countries. We will send you full information on how to obtain these, including application forms, approximately 10 weeks prior to the voyage's departure in January. Guests participating in overland tours may require double-entry visas for some destinations, or additional visas, depending on their specific itinerary. Further information about this will be included in our general visa mailing.


If you decide to apply for your visa(s) through Cunard’s recommended agent you will have to pay an additional charge.


South America


Guests who do not hold British Citizen and European passports may need to obtain visas for some South American countries. Failure to obtain the correct travel documentation can lead to hefty fines that will need to be paid by the guest. Please check that your visa requirements are in order before embarkation to avoid extra expense.


Schengen Visa Information Non-European passport holders may require a Schengen visa for entry into Continental Europe. The United Kingdom is not a Schengen State member. British Citizen passport holders do not require a Schengen Visa.


Schengen State members are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.


Please remember: Visa regulations and requirements change, in addition, if you are arriving at an embarkation point early or staying on at the end of your voyage, different visa regulations may apply. We recommend that you check your requirements with your travel agent or the appropriate embassy at least 4 months prior to departure if possible. Alternatively for information regarding visa requirements or passports, please contact the Cunard visa team via email at: visas@cunard.co.uk.


Please note that it is your responsibility to have a valid passport and the appropriate visas for your journey.


HEALTHMATTERS& VACCINATIONS


At the time of going to press no vaccinations are compulsory for any of the ports of call in this brochure but the Department of Health does however recommend vaccinations for certain countries visited on our voyages. Since these recommendations do change you should seek in good time before departure with your GP, or ask your travel agent for a copy of the Department of Health’s ‘Advice on health for travellers’. Alternatively, you can find the location of your nearest MASTA travel medicine clinic at www.masta.org


Malaria – Malaria transmission may occur in the following areas. We therefore recommend that guests seek advice from a Travel Clinic and, if advised, obtain prophylactic medications before joining their voyage:


2012 World Voyages Queen Elizabeth 11 March – Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia Queen Mary 2 12 March – Rabaul, Papua New Guinea

10 January and 8 February – Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala


Guests are advised to seek advice from a recognised travel medicine clinic or their own medical practitioner with regard to their personal itinerary including pre- or post-voyage travel as immunisations and malaria advice/prophylaxis may be recommended.


We also recommend that guests give consideration to having immunisation for Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Polio, Diphtheria and Tetanus. In view of the widespread destinations visited by Cunard and the frequent changes with respect to health risks, guests are strongly advised to review the advice for travellers in the Department of Health leaflets available from your doctor, ABTA travel agent or by telephoning: 0800 555777, online at www.doh.gov.uk or by emailing: doh@prolog.uk.com.
