Can I travel when pregnant? Guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy or beyond at any point in their holiday unfortunately will not be permitted to travel with us in line with our pregnancy policy. If you require further information then please call 0845 971 0300.


Can disabled guests travel? Before making a booking, please familiarise yourself with clauses 18-24 of the Booking Conditions in this brochure. You will be pleased to know that all our ships cater for guests bringing wheelchairs or mobility scooters (referred to collectively in this section as wheelchairs). With lifts and wheelchair accessible routes to all public rooms and the vast majority of deck areas, as well as a number of staterooms adapted for wheelchair users, we aim to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. If you are planning to bring a wheelchair on board with you, it is essential that you let us know at the time of booking so we can advise you of restrictions on the size and type of wheelchair we accept on board. Any guests requiring the use of a wheelchair, mobility scooter or walking aid must provide their own. For the safety of all our guests, Cunard has introduced size guidelines for all wheelchairs and mobility scooters where a standard (non adapted) stateroom has been booked (these restrictions do not apply to guests bringing a motorised wheelchair and booked in fully accessible staterooms). For all bookings, scooters must meet the following specifications: Width - no more than 20 inches (51cm); weight - no more than 45kg total with no component piece to weigh more than 23kg when dissembled; battery - Gel or Dry Cell only. Part-time wheelchair users who travel in a non-adapted stateroom must bring a collapsible wheelchair.


A ship is not always the easiest environment for using a wheelchair. Although our crew are always very helpful, they are unable to assist you in moving around the ship, or in any personal day-to-day tasks. For this reason, we require guests who use a wheelchair or who require assistance with personal care to be accompanied by a personal assistant/travelling companion to provide these services.


When choosing your voyage please bear in mind that it may not be possible for wheelchair users to get ashore at ports of call. At the majority of ports visited by our ships, we deploy a short ramped low-level gangway, referred to as the ship’s brow, to give all wheelchair users easy access to shore. We do our very best to ensure all guests get ashore in as many ports as possible, although there will be times when it is not possible to deploy the ship’s brow. This is normally due to ports with a large tidal range. Some examples of ports with a large tidal range (but not an exhaustive list) are Bilbao, Brest, La Coruña, Le Havre, Lisbon, Vigo, Zeebrugge, Canary Island ports, Hamburg, Boston, Halifax, Portland and Quebec. At ports where it is not possible to use the ship’s brow, all access to shore will be by a narrow stepped gangway that pivots to take account of the tide, known as the accommodation ladder. When the accommodation ladder is in use, you will need some independent mobility in order to walk down the gangway. Each of our ships carries a wheelchair “stair climbing” machine which, where appropriate, may be used to allow wheelchair users to go ashore provided they transfer between their own wheelchair and the wheelchair that is fitted to the stair climber at the top and bottom of the accommodation ladder. The stair climber cannot be used with electric wheelchairs– these will need to be taken ashore separately.


Our shore excursion descriptions set out to offer practical advice based upon our operating experience. We would strongly advise you to read the excursion descriptions to make sure that your chosen excursion is suitable for your individual personal requirements. We use our best efforts to obtain appropriate transport although due to local conditions it may not always be possible for us to secure fully accessible vehicles. ONBOARD


How do I pay for purchases on board? For your convenience we operate a 'cash free' system, where you simply sign for all purchases using your Cruise Card, which is provided at check-in. You can use a MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club or a Visa Delta/Debit card. We are unable to accept Switch/Maestro, Solo, Visa Electron or pre-paid credit cards. Whilst you are on board your daily spend will be authorised at close of business each day with your card provider. These authorisations remain on your card for up to 28 days. On your return home you may wish to contact your card provider to clear any outstanding authorisations so as to not affect your credit limit.


How long will I be in Port? The time the ship will be in port will vary according to the voyage and port. For each voyage in this brochure we have indicated next to each port whether our port call will be a morning, an afternoon, a full day or longer. Below you will find a guide to how long the ship will usually be in port:


Morning: The Ship will usually arrive between 7am and 9am and normally depart between 12noon and 2pm


Afternoon: The Ship will usually arrive between 12noon and 2pm and normally depart between 5pm and 7pm


Full Day: The Ship will usually arrive between 7am and 10am and normally depart between 4pm and 8pm


Full Day & Evening: The Ship will usually arrive between 7am and 10am and normally depart between 9pm and 11.59pm


Afternoon & Evening: The Ship will usually arrive between 12noon and 2pm and normally depart between 9pm and 11.59pm


Afternoon, Overnight & Full Day: The Ship will usually arrive between 12noon and 2pm and depart the following day between 4pm and 8pm


Evening & Overnight: The ship will usually arrive between 4pm and 8pm and depart the following day.


Can friends come on board? Your friends are always welcome at the port to wave you off. However, due to our stringent security measures and to ensure the safety of our guests and crew, we do not allow visitors on board.


What if I need a special diet? We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. Please advise us of your needs six months prior to departure or at the time of booking, whichever is closer to your departure date.


Can I have room service? Of course. Room Service is available round the clock. You’ll find a Room Service menu in your stateroom.


Do you have hair dryers on board? Yes, every stateroom has a hair dryer.


Can I use my electrical appliances? Yes you can. On board our ships you’ll find British 220 volt, 3-pin sockets and 110 volt, 2-pin sockets.


Can I get my laundry done? Full laundry and dry-cleaning services are available on board our ships and will be billed to your on-board account. Our ships also have complimentary self-service washers, dryers and irons at your disposal.


Are there any shops on board? You’ll find a selection of duty-free shops on board, selling a range of goods from clothes, jewellery, perfumes and gifts, to essentials such as toothpaste and razor blades.
