WISDOM
Under this lens Trinity brings an innovative approach to teaching and research in the Humanities, using cutting edge technology to expand the horizons of understanding of the human condition.
Trinity aims to nurture and promote creativity in the intellectual activity of our students and researchers, developing thinkers with innovative solutions to the challenges of the world today, benefiting business and society at large.
Trinity is building on a long-standing tradition of developing worldwide intellectual networks, which will enable people to think laterally about the great issues of civilisation. We will also create a repository for future generations of researchers considering life and its possibilities.
CONFIDENCE
Our confidence as a nation has been enhanced by the quality of our graduates, the key positions they go on to occupy globally and in our standing in the rankings of world-wide academic institutions. Trinity’s research and education strategies have contributed to Ireland playing its role as a responsible global citizen, for the benefit of both developed and developing worlds.
Trinity will help to “Globalise Ireland and Hibernicise the world” at a time when globalisation is having an unprecedented effect on our lives. Under this lens Trinity has already organised its research in the area of international integration through rigorous, objective multi-disciplinary examination of the effects of globalisation, bringing together international scholars in The Sutherland Centre, the “Hub” for high level, topical research in this area.
Also under this lens, Trinity will organise its research and teaching to help Ireland leverage its green heritage, developing novel and practical ways to address major environmental and energy issues.
PARTICIPATION
This lens deals with Trinity supporting active citizenship in its students, staff and the College itself.
It does this by helping identify ways for us all to better contribute to and benefit from society and for society to capture each individual’s potential and care for their needs. Researching inequality and developing models of best practice and policy to ameliorate this is core. So too is providing a quality student experience which harnesses the potential of student activity, enabling and encouraging those who want to get involved and use their talents to do so.
