STUDENT CENTRE
Trinity aims to be a leading example of how a university can contribute to society and change the world through promoting student activity
Trinity College has evolved a unique student environment, a culture of participation and volunteerism with a developed sense of community. This environment helps to cultivate leaders and nurtures a sense of citizenship which is essential for a healthy, vibrant society. Trinity is committed to strengthening its strategy to fully maximize the potential of the Trinity Experience and its impacts on students and society.
The Student Centre will provide new infrastructure, supports and services for students which will help to harness the potential of student activity – for the benefit of students themselves but also for the wider community.
This project is in its planning phase.
SPORTS CENTRE
A fantastic range of facilities on offer in a stunning new facility
The new Sports Centre, situated at the corner of Pearse Street and Westland Row includes specially designed features such as the 25-metre pool’s floating floor which allows for depth adjustment to cater for deep water activities such as scuba training and water polo.
Another striking element of the building is the spectacular 19-metre climbing wall, visible for almost the entire height of the building from Westland Row. Other facilities include two large sports halls; a fitness theatre; an aerobic and dance studio; treatment rooms; a sauna and steam room.
Officially opened in 2007/08 this €30M project received no State funding – it was fully funded by a generous gift from the Atlantic Philanthropies coupled with a voluntary levy by the student body.
