University of Southampton Open Day, Thursday 3 July 2008
By contrast, the vehicles on this day were much less colourful. I
noted ten fairly similar Wilts & Dorset Optare double deckers and
one Blue Star double decker running between Highfield and West
Quay via Central Station (visitors coming by car are asked to park
at West Quay and take the bus from there). Traffic conditions
permitting, buses operated at about five minute intervals, but in
the mid-afternoon there was still a long queue at the University.
There were two single deckers operating between Highfield and
Wessex Lane; these were both in Oxford Bus colours but with
notices in the back window indicating that they are now with
Southern Vectis.
