establish a clear rugby curriculum, year on
year – what does a 12-year-old really need
from July until May, then what does he need
to do at 13, at 16 and so on. rugby
“I think that needs to take into consideration
skill, the laws of the game, nutrition, lifestyle
management, so there is a lot we need to
influence when we have got them in the
rugby environment.
“I have got to opportunity to deliver on that
now and we are a talented group of people
within my department.
“I was hugely encouraged that we had 38
people here last night from all our partner
clubs in the pyramid which sits below our
semi-pro tier. Every club turned up here with
a coach and administrator to listen to what
we had to say, what we want to do.
“It is great for us, a rewarding experience
that we have got people who are really
interested and want to be part of what
we are trying to do.”
