“Our under-14s played exceptionally well, and there were promising
signs across the age groups,” said Nick Lawrence, the national
performance manager at Tennis Wales. “Our players are gaining
more competitive experience and performances like this are very
encouraging.”
Tennis Wales is looking to build on such success by bringing the most
promising young tennis players in Wales together in new squads to
help them develop to international standard.
The squads will be based at the Wrexham high performance centre
for those in the north and at Esporta, Cardiff for those in the south.
