Premium power from Seddons
Seddons (Plant & Engineers) introduced the Honda EU65is generator earlier in 2008 as
the premium model in the EU series, replacing the EX5500. The machine incorporates
inverter technology, which, according to the company, delivers power that is ‘cleaner’
than the National Grid’s.
The EU65is is 32% lighter in dry weight than its predecessor, and delivers 20% better fuel
consumption due to its Eco throttle, which enables automatic control of the engine speed to
match the power requirement of the appliance being used. Noise has also been reduced by
3dB. Seddons sees the product as ideal for hire to commercial and recreational users, and
says that it is currently being offered at a significantly lower price than the EX5500.
