pening on October 20, 2008, at the Broward County
Main Library, Gallery Six, in Fort Lauderdale during
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Stories to Share exhibit
is a comprehensive overview of courageous journeys and
personal statements. The scope of the project ranges from a
28 year old mother of two to a 98 year young survivor, and
includes alternative and complementary treatments, surgery,
nutrition, and wellness which each woman explores during
recovery, and her ultimate “discovery”.
“As their designated warrior, I am responsible for en-
couraging a dialogue for all women with my lens and their
words. They have conquered adversity with amazing strength
and dignity and I am truly honored to have had this oppor-
tunity to share their incredible stories with the community.
Each is a tribute to the human spirit and an inspiration to live
fearlessly and consciously!”, said photographer Susan Buzzi.
Also scheduled on October 20th is the Susan G. Komen
Wellness Fair from 11am-2pm on Floor 6, and a “Creative
Journaling Workshop” on October 26th from 1:30-3pm.
Selections from the exhibit will preview at the annual Komen
Race for the Cure at Bayfront Park in Miami on October 18th.
The exhibition is on view from October 14-31, 2008,
with an Opening Gallery Reception on October 20th from
5:30-7:30pm. The Broward County Main Library is located
