Making Relationships
Work Offered as
Half-Day Course in
Fort Lauderdale
A
Meditation Course is being held at
Drolma Buddhist Center with Teacher
Kadam Nick Gillespie, Sunday, August 24,
9:30am-2pm. This is a half-day course using
Buddha’s teachings to help us get along -
making friends and spiritual progress!
All of us - whether living alone or
married with six kids - need good relation-
ships. We need others for every aspect of
our existence, both worldly and spiritual.
In this course, we will look at ways to get
along with each other and the rationale for
doing so - combating a creeping global in-
difference with an ideology of love. We can
learn to relish all our relationships and look
forward to all our interactions, making our
lives more meaningful and satisfying.
Everyone is welcome. No previous
experience is necessary. Cost: $35 ($20
students/limited income) and includes a
delicious vegetarian lunch! Center Spon-
sors receive a $25 discount off the regular
course price.

Zen Art
Z
en Art offers an antidote to daily stress
in its emphasis on simplicity, purity and
naturalness. The creativity and the fresh
interpretation of this minimalist art is intro-
duced to us by Alicia Falcone, an artist who
presents a blend of expertise in modern
interior design with the principles of Feng
Shui while adding the beauty of Chinese
calligraphy throughout her canvas.
Classic Asian style gets a modern
makeover. Part Zen and part mod, the
paintings uphold the rich traditions of the
Far East while resonating with a contem-
porary audience. What distinguishes Fal-
cone’s paintings from more classic oriental
works is her modern approach. She evokes
the minimalism of the 1950s and ‘60s by
