Finnish welding specialist, Kemppi, launched its
new KempArc Synergic product range for robotic
welding. The focus has been placed on fast reac-
tion speed and reliable wire feeding which play a
key role in improving welding automation produc-
tivity. The product range includes a control panel,
three power source options and the small DT 400
wire feeder equipped with the new DURATorque
mechanism with metallic feed rolls.
Kemppi has also developed the FastROOT proc-
ess, a new more productive MIG/MAG method
(short arc-welding process) for welding root
passes.
Its MinarcMig Adapative 180 welding machine
recently won the International Red Dot design
award, beating over 2,000 products from forty-
one countries. The machine now features a new

solution for spot welding – the KUKA KR 175 spot
for point-to-point motions. With an integrated
weld controller, the operator no longer has to cope
with two different control environments but can
operate the entire application – motion and weld-
ing process – from the KUKA control panel.
At the exhibition, visitors could experience what
it felt like to cooperate with a robot. A fully syn-
chronised RoboTeam, consisting of a KR-210 (with
a KUKA gripper for picking up a workpiece) and
two KR6 ARC arc welding robots (with the latest
Fronius processing system) worked together on the
same piece. Using manually-guided robot tech-
nology, the operator could inspect the weld seam
while the operation was still in progress.
