Who can predict what strange ideas might make for
successful musicals (Cats?), but one of the more unusual
ones comes to the Hackney Empire this month with
the debut of The Sister Wendy Musical. Yes, the
show concerns itself with that Sister Wendy, the South
African-born nun who shot to fame in the early 1990s
after presenting a series of art history programmes
on the BBC. The show follows the story of this media
