Pleasure Beach boss presents
£35m casino plan
Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Beach boss Albert Jones is to present
plans for a £35m casino and leisure complex, creating circa 1,000
jobs. The casino project, to be called The Edge, would utilise
wasteland between the Pleasure Beach and the outer harbour site
and would include a 180-room hotel, as well as a 10-screen cinema,
a 22-lane bowling alley, and a combination of restaurants and bars.
The negativity of a decrease in slot machine revenues and a drop in
overall casino income for the Partouche Group has been eased by
a huge resurgence in table gaming. It is undoubtedly with this in
mind that the group is hoping to lead the French sector when it
comes to offering poker tournaments in its venues.
