RFID security anytime, anywhere

PRODUCT NAME: Portable Chip Reader MANUFACTURER: Gaming Partners International PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Gaming Partners Inter national (GPI) will show-

case the Portable Chip Reader, an innovative tool that gives casinos greater flexibility in authenticating and validating RFID-enabled gaming chips. By enabling casino staff quickly and accu- rately to read, authenticate and count their currency from any location at any time, the reader extends RFID protection from the cage or chip bank to the table, the pit podium or even to back-of-house counting areas. It combines the latest Magellan MARS 24 reader with a two- dimensional antenna that can read RFID chips in mass, in stacks or in racks. Encased in a sleek, portable case with a chip-reading surface that can be cus- tomised with the casino’s logo, the Portable Chip Reader is able quickly to authenticate individual RFID chips and stacks of up to 20 chips as well as chips

that are still in trays. All validation information is displayed on an easy-to-read LCD screen that shows the number of pieces being authenticated and the total value amount. It can read up to 400 chips per second while simulta-

neously identifying whether the

chips are authentic, valid casino currency, making it possible for casino staff to easily identify and remove foreign, non-casino chips. Designed for ease-of-use and relia- bility, it features a durable design that makes it easy to transport throughout the casino and a universal power supply that works with any voltage. ALSO ON THE STAND: GPI’s wide range of RFID-enabled and RFID-ready prod- ucts, including cage and table readers, the Chip Inventory System and the eReady Table. B&G, Paulson and Bud Jones casino currency. Custom-built, hand- crafted casino furniture for all table games. The Advance of bill acceptors

PRODUCT NAME: SC Advance MANUFACTURER: MEI PRODUCT DESCRIP- TION: MEI will be showing SC Advance, the next gen- eration bill acceptor of CashFlow SC. SC Advance applies new technology and market knowledge to raise the bar for performance features that directly impact operator profitabil- ity: acceptance, jam rate, security and cost of operation. The SC Advance features: an improved recognition system, which pro- vides proactive security by using transmissive sensors to see all the way through notes in multiple wave- lengths; faster bill-to-bill speed, improv- ing the player experience and speeding up transactions; expanded memory, which limits part numbers and submissions by allowing more notes to be recognised in a specific release of firmware; comprehen- sive barcode recognition, which processes barcode coupons in all four directions and improves acceptance on multi-width currencies; and an upgrade to USB 2.0, which speeds up communica- tions with the host machine and even potentially expands functionality.

Because the enhancements are localised to the acceptor head, SC Advance can work hand-in-hand with legacy Cash- Flow SC units already in the field. This capability is facilitated by Cash- Flow STS, intelligent support tools, which are able to sense the product version and provide the appropri- ate software.

ALSO ON THE STAND: SC Advance is also compatible with SC product extensions that have

expanded the reach of bill

acceptors from the slot machine to the entire cash management process. Eas- iTrax Soft Count, for example, uses an integrated software/hardware solution with data collected in the bill validator and makes it accessible in a database that can be networked to multiple locations and be accessed to analyse slot performance. RFID technology connects slot machine asset numbers to a specific cashbox to help eliminate “hot boxes” and increase operational efficiencies. STAND NUMBER: 4041
