Supply chain pioneers
The first companies in the UK to trial the new National Action
Plan for 21st Century Supply Chains initiative are all members
of the Cornwall Aerospace and Defence Initiative, or CADI,
the 18-strong network founded by Cornwall Enterprise. Upon
successful completion of the scheme, the seven pilot companies
will become the first to receive full SC21 accreditation, thereby
demonstrating at one stroke the required standards to supply
a wide range of major aerospace and defence companies,
including project supporters BAE Systems and Airbus.

UK, reports the region’s Development Agency (SEEDA), with
the establishment of a new innovation centre in Portsmouth
and plans for other centres in the area. As part of its new
programme, Innovation Works, EADS is creating a research
foundation to encourage the development of technology and
aims to build closer links with Government, universities and
business across the South East region. The EADS activities
are expected to contribute further to the South East’s already
