Make your Loss Prevention
strategy more effective in
reducing overall loss
Graham Pollock, previously Head of Security for Signet the High Street
jewellers and Acting Head of Profit Protection for Sainsbury’s Supermarkets,
formed Howat Nicoll Consulting Ltd in July of this year following a successful
year consulting for a number of international retailers. Although specialising in
the restructuring of existing loss prevention departments to be more effective
by adopting a holistic ‘total loss’ concept rather than tackling the more reactive
traditional retail crime and unknown loss approach, Howat Nicoll also consults
on loss prevention department formations, shopfloor retail crime prevention,
data mining, assistance in developing a ‘customer facing’ retail security officer
policy and security system design, specification and project management.
Howat Nicoll consultants have over 60 years of retail crime and loss prevention
experience gained from leading British and International retailer’s Loss
Prevention departments from high end jewellery to electrical retailers to
supermarkets and department stores.
“Retailers, and in particular Finance Directors, are seeking new ways and
working practices to ensure their investment in Loss Prevention delivers what it
says on the tin, a reduction in loss of profits, through a proactive holistic
approach to loss from whatever source within the business. That could be
employee theft, refund fraud, poor wastage or write off controls or simply not
knowing where the main area of loss is within the business”
Specialising in the formulation of business specific policies and procedures to
reduce loss and meet ever more stringent shrink targets, Howat Nicoll
Consulting can assist most retailers to improve the effectiveness of any Loss
Prevention strategy.
