Washington. “I had my Canon S70 on wide angle in a housing, and then I hung it around my neck with the 10-second timer on, hit the shutter and kept paddling,” said the Portland, Oregon–based writer and photographer.


Rick Snowdon snapped this picture of sea foam inside the barrier islands of Nuchatlitz,


on Vancouver Island’s west coast. “I was guiding a six-day trip with stunning weather, waterfalls dropping into the ocean, bears on the beaches and humpbacks just offshore,” said Snowdon, who owns Spirit of the West Adventures. He shot the photo with a point-and-shoot Pentax Optio W10.
