The FFCLD
The FFCLD (Federation francaise de danse
country et line dance) is a labour of love for
its president Gerard Simoncello and his lovely
wife Isabelle who work day and night on
behalf of the organisation’s 5.200 members.
Though only four years old, the FFCLD offers
a range of valuable benefi ts for its members
with insurance rebates and free legal advice,
copyright problems (another big jungle!) and
various other vital bits of help. The FFCLD
website is particularly helpful with every
question and contacts listed. Gerard and
Isabelle want Line dance in France to be
afforded the very best of support and help

Handiline
The brainchild of Gilles Bataille (aka Gillou,
pronounce Jeelou) Handiline promotes
wheelchair Line dance. Gilles used to be a
devoted Line dancer and became a “dancer in
his head” after being confi ned to a wheelchair.
His goals are simple, he is looking for total
acceptance of any handicapped person on
the dance fl oor and on the evidence seen in
Cagnes Sur Mer this is certainly happening
already. Dancers and wheelchair dancers had
no problem interacting together and dancing.
Gilles also wants to go to Nashville with his
team, to prove that whatever can be done
with two feet can actually be translated to
someone with a handicap. Gilles popularity
stems from his obvious happiness in being
on a dance fl oor and his total devotion to
Handiline. Once you meet Gilles, you know
that he will achieve all he sets out to do.
