Kicking It Up
In Torquay
A weekend full of Line dancing was held
at the TLH Resort in Torquay organised
by the D&A Dance Club. Guest
instructor throughout the weekend
was Rob Fowler and live entertainment
was provided by Bobby D Sawyer, The
Westcoasters & Gemma Fairweather.
Jamie Moyses from Kountry Kickers
says: “The weather was fantastic. Due
to so much fun and laughter, and the
success of the weekend as a whole, we
will be returning next year. The line
up will be Calico, Plain Loco and Stig
Country with guest instructor Kate Sala
and it is something we are all looking
forward to. So Torquay watch out”.
Dancing For
Pearl
Joan Squizz and her Line dancing friends
often put on demo’s for retirement homes
in their area. Joan says: “People can always
give a small donation for the charity we
support, The Dr. Hadwens Trust. The trust
funds medical research without the use of
animals.” Joan and her friends did a demo in
July at a home where one of the residents,
Pearl, was celebrating her 100th birthday.
Joan added: “We had a barbecue and the
Mayor and Mayoress of Southbourne
attended. Some of the visitors even joined
in our display and a few dances were also
taught. It really is no surprise why Line
dancing is so well loved in Dorset.”
