Family Support
There were a great many family
connections in this year’s finals as well.
The Williams sisters, Venus and Serena,
played against each other in the singles
final and then partnered each other in
the ladies doubles. The mixed doubles
final saw American twins Bob and Mike
Bryan compete against each other
having lost in the semi final of the men’s
doubles (which they won in 2007) and
this meant that there were family
connections in three of the five finals!
